Knowledge & technology transfer

A key goal of NCCR Catalysis is to transfer fundamental discoveries into practical technologies with tangible benefits for society. To this end, we actively disseminate our results to three main stakeholders: industry, academia, and policy makers. We interact closely with the following groups.

Industry

NCCR Catalysis collaborates strongly with industrial partners to understand the needs of the chemical industry. We welcome ideas from any company wishing to collaborate on open data projects. Further information on our scientific development will be shared through regular transfer events. Larger industry partnerships involving the expertise and infrastructure of NCCR Catalysis members and Swiss Cat+ are also pursued.

Academia

Within Switzerland, any group working on catalysis research can apply to become an associate member of NCCR Catalysis; please get in touch to learn more about the procedure. We interact with several national and international initiatives in the field of sustainable chemistry and organize a yearly conference, summer schools and seminars where we invite guest speakers.

Policy makers

NCCR Catalysis participates at national and international events aimed at bridging industry, academia, and policy to become the key point of contact for sustainable chemistry for industrial and societal stakeholders. We endeavor to raise awareness for the need of sustainable chemistry and to provide advice to the local and national government on related topics.

NCCR Catalysis members

Within our network, we organize trainings on valorizing research and transfering it into relevant applications and industries. Additionally, we promote and provide guidance with patent applications and licensing. We will identify and support internal projects with high innovation and commercialization potential, and lead efforts to create spin-offs resulting from NCCR Catalysis research.
